We also got a couple more Federal Steve Hamilton frames in 20", including the cool looking green one below... Nokon cables back in stock, too...
Well that's about it for 2004... thanks a lot for all your support out there... 2005 should be a very exciting year around here, stay tuned.... and have a happy new year!
anyone going to Taunton tonight?
Also got in a few new tees from Terrible One... and another 21" Bar Code frame in green... Act fast, before Tony Long buys all this stuff.. hahah just kidding, Tony... or am I?
Merry Christmas everybody!
Also got in a fairly inexpensive bike repair stand (a park PCS-9)... these things come in very handy and eliminate a lot of frustration...
And lastly, we got in another cross-country/all ride mountain bike suspension fork... a 2005 Marzocchi MX Comp ETA... 120mm of travel, or lock it out on the fly to 30mm for climbing with the ETA feature... air preload, coil sprung, internal rebound adjustment, QR dropouts, disc compatable...
What else is going on around here? I watched the new Terrible One DVD last night, it is excellent... a little different format, it combines outrageous riding and kind of a travel documentary... these dudes went EVERYWHERE... it's about an hour long and has some funny extras, a great video... Also, I installed my first Odyssey Elementary stem today.. a little bit tricky, but pretty sleek once it's good to go... I like it...
Also got in a 20" Federal Hamilton frame in black, euro bb, internal headset... we should see the Corey Martinez frame tomorrow...
Other stuff that came in: New Federal Light bars in 10 or 12 degree, another DVD by Harry Delprete called 1134: Operation Enduring BMX (I've heard this video, as well as Harry, is nuts), and new Little Devil beanies and visor beanies...
Back in stock are Federal Traction tires and Little Devil boy shorts.
We should be getting in all the new Coalition stuff (seats, posts, clamps, front hubs, Taj grips) on the 24th or 27th, and some Fly Pantera Spanish BB frames, as well as their brakes, in bronze and dark green on the 27th.
In other news, there is a rumor going around that there may be some kind of contest/jam going on at Skater's Edge in Taunton to benefit Ox and his uninsured spleen... we'll keep you posted... see ya...
We also got in Dig #43, the new Demolition Team pedals in unsealed 9/16" only, and red Odyssey Duralectra rims (for those of you that don't know, the finish on the Duralectra rims is as good as chrome as far as braking goes)...
In other news, I came inches from falling for a Nigerian phone scam today... awesome... if anyone calls you from Nigeria using a Telecommunications Device for the Deaf machine and wants to order "golf clubs... sorry, I mean cycling shoes and shirts... I'll take twenty of them, any size, any style, please send them to Nigeria, here is my stolen credit card number...", you can bet its a scam... finally I was like, listen, someone has got to come in here and physically pay for this stuff... he was like, "Well, I can't I live in Nigeria.. bye bye"... I later found out that apparently there are all these phone and email scams out there that all originate from Nigeria... funny thing is, the guy said his name was Larry Craig... turns out, Larry Craig is a senator from Idaho that put out an identity theft bulletin after recieving a similar email scam... hmmm... those Nigerian con artists, they're so witty and ironic...
The Tip Plus DVD "The Family" came in today, should be pretty good... also got in the Macneil Light sprocket in 36T, and a set of We The People "Pi" hubs in orange... these hubs fit 13 or 14 tooth freewheels in left or right-hand-drive... 14mm hollow rear axle, 3/8" front...
Back in stock are We The People "Excalibur" forks, Park CT-5 chain tools, and some cheap PSI gauges...
Non -BMX stuff? Got in some Third Eye bar end mirrors, and Topeak Road frame pumps...
And finally, best wishes go out to Ryan Lively (AKA "Ox"), who I've been told is in the hospital recovering from a ruptured spleen... get well soon...
another beautiful day for the Christmas Lightscycle...
Got a coupla things back in stock... short Fly pegs and 3/8" Fly Pantera forks, DK Random Wrenches, and some DK Eight Pack completes that we've been out of...
Before Christmas we should be getting the new Federal Corey Martinez and Steven Hamilton frames, and quite possibly the Terrible One DVD... I'll know more about that DVD Monday or Tuesday of next week... I'll keep you posted....
Oh, and we have the new Primo logo grips in some fancy new colors besides black...
ALSO, we finally got in the Nike/Lance Armstrong Foundation "Livestrong" bracelets, in two different sizes... Niketown or the ol' Build-a-Bear workshop out of stock? Who wants to go to the mall this time of year anyways? What guy wants to set foot in a Build-a-Bear workshop in the first place? Don't get ripped off on Ebay or by some common street hustler peddling false imitations and pocketing the profits... these are the real deal, they are one dollar exactly, and all proceeds go directly to the Lance Armstrong Foundation... makes a nice stocking stuffer, too...
For those of you into things other than BMX, all the 2005 Rock Shox and Marzocchi suspension forks are available now... we just got in a pretty basic Judy SL, which is for the casual off road type of guy looking for a halfway decent fork for cheap money... 70-115mm adjustable travel via U-turn,HydraCoil oil damping, fits V or disc brakes... we will be getting more and more forks in as time goes on, and we can special order just about anything, so if you or anyone you know is into mountain bikes, come check 'em out...
And on the way: Odyssey Elementary stems (12/22), Demolition pedals (12/22), S&M "Please Kill Me" DVD (12/17), Kink "Cheap Thrills" DVD (12/17), Odyssey's Odyssey DVD (12/17), and more Odyssey Gary Young grips (12/17).
Also got System Cycle's "System" DVD back in, and Andy Burton dropped off some copies of his FREE 5 minute Endicott Wetlands DVD, along with some EW stickers... I believe this and another of his 5 minute videos are on his website... these things are cool, give Andy a shout and tell him to keep it up...
Speaking of local dudes and their projects, be sure to check out shop regular Nick Ferreira's website holdontighter
FYI, if any of you guys need anything from the shop but can't make the trip out here for some reason or another, we are able to take orders over the phone and ship stuff out to you... call us for details or to place an order at 781-293-3665...
That's it for today...
The first is the Giant "Dub", their 20" chopper... this thing is pretty cool, and is pretty inexpensive at $249...
The second is the Giant "Gloss", a girl's 20" bike that Giant calls a 'Fashion bike'... this thing is pretty cool, too, and is only $185...
Both bikes would look pretty nice under the Christmas tree...
As you may have noticed, I finally figured out how to post photos...
Watched Props #54 yesterday, it was really good... the Metro Jam stuff was absolutely ridiculous... The S&M DVD "Please Kill Me" has finally shipped, it will be here December 17... the new Terrible One DVD is still supposed to be here before Christmas... we should be getting in the new Federal T-Nez and Hamilton frames, as well as Spanish BB Fly Pantera frames, during the week of Christmas... stay tuned... that is all for today...
FBM Old 76 bars back in stock... 9 and 12 degree in black... lifetime warranty on these babies...
For those of you who don't know but would like to know, S&M has taken over the production and distribution of Metal products... no, this doesn't mean that S&M owns Metal or anything, but it does mean that Metal stuff should be more readily available and will be of the same high quality as S&M and Fit stuff...
Speaking of Fit stuff, Fit is currently not producing their Taiwanese made three piece cranks for some reason or another... I have a hunch it has something to do with them being too similar to Primo Powerbites... their "Team" complete bikes, by the way, are coming with a Taiwanese tubular chromoly 3 piece set instead... we still got a couple sets of the cranks in the shop, so if you want 'em, act fast....
What other fascinating, FASCINATING information do we have for you today? Ummm.. if anybody, like me, was wondering where the Animal website went, it is being rebuilt and should be up again soon... I believe Animal has a new sweatshirt out that we should have in soon...
Word on the street is that we'll have some Odyssey "Elementary" stems in around December 20th...
Also, Coalition grips, hubs, seats, seat clamps and seatposts are excruciatingly close to arriving here at the shop...
That's about it... I'm off to the skatepark... www.skatersedgeinc.com... ...and maybe the 99... www.99restaurants.com
Coalition stuff is right around the corner, meaning seats, hubs, grips, seatposts, etc...
Also next week, the new Primo "E-brakes" will be in...
and last but not least, a couple new Giant bikes.... one is the "Dub", which is a sweet looking 20" chopper, and the other is the "Gloss", which is sort of like a girl's version...
S&M "Please Kill Me" DVD's soon, too... stay tuned for exact dates on all of the above...
Speaking of DVDs, we got a few titles on sale for ten bucks each...
The Kink video premiere Saturday night went well, kind of a small turnout but a good time nonetheless.... thank you to all of you who did show up, we will be doing more premieres in the future...
That's all for today...
The actual Cheap Thrills DVD will have about 40 minutes of bonus footage, and will be slightly different.... I still haven't seen the version we'll be showing tomorrow, but I think it may be a rough copy, i.e., no titles or credits... should be a good video though... we'll have copies of it for sale in the shop the week of Christmas, I'm told....
Other than that, we got in a couple of things today... the February '05 Ride Magazine, which has some fairly local stuff in it... Chris King headsets are back in... and we finally got some Wipperman Pro chains, a few of you guys have been asking for these things.... they are pretty sweet...
Oh, and check out Andy Giraffe's cool new site for BMX/non-BMX photos, musings, short videos, and so on, at www.endicottwetlands.com
Thanks, and hopefully we'll see you tomorrow..
The Kink "Cheap Thrills" DVD premiere is still on for Saturday night (6pm, Dec 4th) at the shop... sounds like there will be a pretty good turnout, hopefully we will find room for everybody... don't forget, everything in the shop will be 5% off after 6pm...
Also some Odyssey stuff: another really cool zip up hoody called the "Hipster", the new Jimmy Levan grips, and some more trigger-style "Monolevers"... by the way, we'll be getting their new "Elementary" stems in after xmas...
More Fly brakes came in too, some in bronze... have I mentioned that I love these brakes?
Sealed Pig headsets back in stock, and magnesium DK Iron Cross pedals...
What do we have on the way, you ask? Well, it's hard to be sure sometimes, but we have Metal Dagger frames coming back in, Props #54 by the end of the week, and Chris King headsets tomorrow. Lots of other stuff that I don't have dates for yet, but keep your ears peeled...
In other news, I went to a surfing video premiere at some bar in Marshfield last night hosted by Levitate Surf & Skate... it was pretty low-key, but it got me pretty excited about the Kink premiere here on Saturday... hope everyone can make it, and that it all goes well... we're expecting it to be a little crowded, so be prepared...
