New Items

Just wanted to show off a few new items that we got in the shop recently... first up is the SKS Airchecker digital pressure gauge... this is an inexpensive, highly accurate, relatively small gauge that reads up to 140 psi/10 bar on its easy to read backlit display... swivelling head will work with presta or Schraeder type valves... saves pressure reading on the screen and also features a bleed button to get just the right pressure... comes with a handy storage pouch as well... I've been using one of these in the shop for about a month now and I love it! Very handy item to have for your bike, car, motorcycle, etc...

We also got in a water bottle cage adapter from Giant, which allows you to attach one or two water bottles behind your seat... offers lower wind resistance and a convenient spot for your bottles... mounts easily to your seat rails and can be adjusted for position and angle... cages not included...

Another item we recieved are Giant's Contact AL bar ends... adds another hand position to your handlebars for less fatigue... 3D forged aluminum construction with a rubberized thumb plate and a durable anodized finish... available in black or silver...

We have tons of other items in stock to get you ready for the season, including tires, brake pads, chains, racks, bags, and all the essentials you could need to get your bike running smoothly! Hope to see you soon!

Spring tune-up time!

If you're looking forward to spring, now is the time to bring your bike in for it's spring tune up! Get your bike ready so when that first warm day hits, you'll be ready to enjoy!

I also wanted to share a picture of some awesome tires that a customer of ours made to make winter a bit more bearable... sheet metal screws threaded in from the inside of the tire and taped into place between the tire and tube makes for a tire with ridiculously good traction... he brought his Giant Warp DS1 by for us to check out with these bad boys mounted up, and even riding on sheer ice we were able to pedal hard and lean into turns without slipping... very strange feeling, if you find yourself with some time and spare tires on your hands and a longing to ride in the dead of winter, give this a try! Thanks a lot Ray!

NEW

We just started carrying the Crank Brothers Power Pump, a compact yet powerful pump which utilizes dual-piston technology for maximum efficiency. Air switch allows you to choose between large volume or high pressure pumping. Carry bracket mounts nearly anywhere, keeps out dirt and holds glueless patch kit (included). Twin head easily fits both Presta and Schrader valves; simple twist locks the pump onto valve. Easy to read while pumping, the analog pressure gauge ensures proper pressure for your road or mountain tire. Completely serviceable. Yet another quality product from the folks at Crank Bros.

Also got in more Bellwether Windstorm gloves, keep riding, it's never too cold!

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Kenda Nevegal Tires, etc

We are now stocking Kenda's famous Nevegal cross-country mountain bike tires... these tires feature a consistently top-rated tread pattern whose tall knobs work extremely well on loose terrain, and Kenda's Dual Tread Compound construction means light weight, low rolling resistance and durability in the center of the tire, with a softer compound on the edges of the tire to really hang on to those corners! I love these tires!

We are also well stocked on an assortment of cold weather/winter riding gear, including fenders, lights, gloves, etc... just because it's cold doesn't mean you have to stop riding!

Also please note that we will be closing early (6pm) on Wednesday, November 26th, and we will be closed on Thursday, November 27th in observance of Thanksgiving... we will re-open on Friday at 9am, have a great Thanksgiving and hope to see you all soon!

SpinSkins, BodyGlide, Clif Bars, etc

Got in a bunch of new goodies over the last few weeks that you may be interested in... first up are SpinSkins Duro tire liners... these are liners that you put between your tire and tube, and they pretty much eliminate puncture flats (thorns, glass, nails, etc)... I've been riding these personally for about five years and have NEVER had a flat tire while using them. Very awesome. As an added bonus, they are very light as well.

Next up are Saris fork blocks... bolt one of these to the bed of your truck, or your wall at home, or wherever else you may need to anchor a bike... clamp the fork in, and forget about it!

Also got in some BodyGlide sticks, which look like deodorant but it is actually an anti-chafing skin protectant... works well for shoes, cycling short chamois, or anywhere you may need a little protection from chafing.

On top off all that stuff, we also got in some Clif Bars in a few different flavors, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something so come on by and rummage around for a bit and see what we have going on around here... hope to see you soon!
