titanium

If you're a big titanium fan, then you're in luck... we got in some stuff from Knight Bike Co. today... axles to fit Profile or Odyssey cassettes, 3/8" and 14mm axle nuts, and crank bolt kits to fit Profiles or Primos... each item is fashioned from Ti6Al4V titanium and comes with some ti-prep and a sticker... Knight also makes cassette drivers for Profile, Odyssey, and Primo, 3/8" Vandero axles, regular stem bolts and Odyssey Elementary Stem bolts...

We also got in the Shadow Conspiracy titanium seatpost, which weighs roughly a third as much as a Primo "Rod"... nice looking post, not for the faint of wallet though... oh, and we got more Terrible One pegs back in stock, too...

Got the details of the Skater's Edge contest... it's May 15th, practice in the morning, contest in the afternoon... pro and am classes, 1st place pro gets $500, 1st place am gets a week at Woodward... there's also going to be a best trick contest with 100% payout... we should have some flyers in the shop in a couple of days... sponsors include Red Bull, Dick Maul's Bike Shop, and Timeless BMX...

more stuff

Got in another FBM "Deployer" frame in olive green, 20.75" top tube, Euro bb... also got in a slick new Fly "Pantera" fork in an indescribable brown color... bronze? dark copper? metallic fudge? don't know... photo below...

Back in stock are Alliance half-links, Animal GLH tires, and Coalition seats...

Rode the Taunton park last night... for those of you who haven't been there lately, the new section is coming along well... it looks pretty sick over there... I was going to take some pictures, but I forgot to bring my camera... Dave says he hopes to have it all done before Saxton's contest there on the 15th of May... incidentally, I heard the contest was sponsored by Red Bull...

Speaking of Red Bull, I mentioned their "No Problemo" DVD in the April 20th post... apparently that DVD is going to come free with an upcoming issue of Props... perhaps Props #56, which is due in sometime in June...

And speaking of DVD's, we'll have "Off The Map" in stock around the middle of May...

Ride Magazine, etc

Got in the new Ride BMX Magazine today...

Due in this week, more Coalition seats, Animal tires, and Shadow Conspiracy titanium seatposts... yikes...

In a few weeks, I hope to have bearings that will fit FBM and S&M "Mid" bottom brackets with a 22mm spindle (currently you can only use a 19mm Profile or Profile-esque spindle with these BB's...)

If you haven't seen them already, check out the picture below (from Fly's website of the rims Fly bikes is working on...

Napoleon Dynamite

I got the best prank call yesterday! Usually the prank calls we get are either stupid or boring, but this one was pretty good... someone called up and, using clips from Napoleon Dynamite, asked me "what kind of bike do you have?", "do you ever take it off any sweet jumps?", and even "do the chickens have large talons?"... hahaha it was pretty funny...

Aaaaanyways, we got in some navy blue Terrible One forks today with newer, smaller dropouts, and also the Terrible One 'zine number 10, which is actually printed instead of photocopied... it's full of good photos, stories, art, etc etc etc... it also comes with some stickers and a Holy Ghost Revival cd... pretty cool, pretty cool...

For those of you wondering, we should have the Orhid DVD "Step On It" in our hands by May 4th or so, and the Little Devil DVD two weeks after that...

We've got some titanium tidbits on the way from Knight Bike Co., things like axles, axle nuts, crank hardware, etc...

I updated the sale/specials page today... 2005 DK General Lees are on sale, and there's a bunch of new tee shirts and other things in the $5 box (you're in luck if you wear large or XL)...

That's about it... peace out...

Shadow Conspiracy stuff...

Just got in some Shadow "Alumalite" seatposts, which are fluted 7075 aluminum posts with 6061 guts... they're not as light as some aluminum posts, but they're probably much stronger... we also got in some Shadow Lite sprockets (7075 aluminum) in a cool titanium color (30 & 33 tooth), and some Shadow "Crowgora" sprockets (6061 aluminum) in black, 33 or 36 tooth... Shadow makes a bashgaurd for this sprocket, but we didn't get any in... if you need one, we will happily order one for you... and also from Shadow, we got in the Lil' Dirty grips, which are a smaller diameter version of the Ol' Dirty grips...

I'm selling my old frame if anyone is interested... it's a black FBM Night Train, 20.75" with American BB... I'll probably sell it for like $150 with the Primo bottom bracket... it's at the shop if anyone wants to check it out... I got to ride my new bike yesterday, I am psyched on it...

shook

Got in the new Shook Interactive "Winteractive" DVD today, which is their third release...

We also got Shadow Conspiracy "Interlock" chains back in stock... they now come with an instruction booklet which says to ignore the instructions on the can that the chain comes in... the new instructions say to install the chain one way, and the old instructions another... go to the Shadow Conspiracy website and click on the chain in the products section to make sure you've got yours on right if you have this chain... I don't think it makes a huge difference either way, but if we put one of these chains on your bike and you want it switched around, come by and we'll do it for you at no charge...

If you're not busy tomorrow night (April 21st) and you're in the Boston area, Red Bull is having a free premiere of their "No Problemo" DVD at the Somerville Theater at 55 Davis Square in Somerville at 7PM. You can check out a trailer for it and "Off The Map" on Cookie's website... as well as some other cool stuff... I heard the No Problemo video itself is going to be free, I'll see if I can get my hands on some if this is true.

By the way, someone emailed me and said the bowl at Skater's Edge is done except for the top layer, and some people have been able to ride it... I heard that John Saxton was getting silly in the capsule...

I got a new bike... if anybody cares I posted a bike check for it here, so if you're extremely bored, check it out. This is the first time in my life I've ever ridden a chain without a master link... discuss...

I guess I'm done rambling for the day... see ya...

FBM "Deployer" & Kink "Jailbird" frames

Got in the new FBM "Deployer" frame, which is Derrick Girard's pro model... pretty sweet frame, we got it in translucent black (which actually looks a little reddish in spots), 20.75" top tube, "mid" bb, integrated headset compatable...

Also in today, the Kink "Jailbird", which is a Freebird frame custom painted by Ryan Sher to resemble a cop car... limited edition, they only made a small number of these... ours is 21" with a Euro bb...

Back in stock are black Nokon cables, Kink Tibbs grips, Kink light and regular bar ends, Tree sprockets in small sizes, Kink and FBM 7075 sprockets in small sizes, Odyssey Monolevers, and more...

Oh, and John Saxton is having a contest at the Taunton park on Sunday, May 15th... details to be announced... word on the street is that the wild new bowl contraption is finished over there... that hasn't been confirmed though, if you know for sure let me know...

Empire DVD

Got in the Empire DVD today, we actually just finished watching it... as rad as you'd expect it to be with the cast of characters in it: full parts from Chase Hawk, Danny Hickerson, Neil Harrington, and Aaron Ross, along with a lot of random stuff including Taj, Joe Rich, Joel Moody (who filmed/edited the video), Steven Hamilton, Ruben, etc etc etc... pretty sweet video...

In other video news, we'll be getting in Props Megatour 4 in about a week, Standpoint 6 is due in any minute now, and the Orchid DVD "Step On It" should be out soon as well... Orchid's got a trailer for the DVD on their site. Looks pretty hot.

Let's see, what else? Soon we should have the Primo T-Nez grips, the Macneil Alistair Whitton frame, the Kink "Jailbird" frame, FBM's "Deployer" frame, a bunch of new Fly and Shadow Conspiracy stuff, and a bunch of titanium goodies from Knight Bike Co. Oh, and we've got some older style UGP cargo shorts on sale, only $25 a pair...

stuff

Hey everybody, just got back from the Dominican Republic... had a great time, it was a real eye-opening vacation... I'll probably post some pictures from the trip at a later date if anybody is interested...

Anyways, we got in some stuff since the last update... Shadow Conspiracy grips in some new colors, a Terrible One "Ruben" frame in a cool brown color which was actually a mistake by the painter... so this could be considered a "limited edition" color... 20.8" only... also got in more grey Odyssey Cassette hubs, DK MPH headsets, and 411 skate videozine volume 13 issue #1... 411 has changed it's format, and this issue comes with extra bonus goodies like a 32 page 'zine and a music sampler...

We should be getting the Empire DVD and some other goodies in very soon... that's all for now though...
